The annual Design Wales Awards are organised jointly between Corus and Design Wales. Design Wales provide free and independent advice on all aspects of design to businesses in Wales and are funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.  Open to second-year product design students from various Universities across Wales, the competition has been sponsored by Corus since its inception in 2002.

Developed to help promote the environmental benefits of good sustainable design, the latest competition saw entrants from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, Glamorgan University and the Swansea Metropolitan University taking part.

Competition briefs in previous years have called upon students to design lighting, domestic appliances, office furniture and heating and cooling appliances.
